Autumn light is perfect for photography, especially photographing people. I absolutely love autumn - the colour is what I need to make me happy and it helps create some pretty beautiful pics as well. Find a wood or anywhere where there are deciduous trees in abundance and start shooting - you don't need a super expensive camera and lenses just an understanding of light.
The light in the autumn is more golden as it reaches us at a different angle than in the summer. Shadows are longer but the light is less harsh .The leaves also reflect the light from the sun and become even more vibrant. I also love the rays of light visible through the trees particularly early morning, if you are lucky, enhanced by the rising mist. If you are too late to capture the time around 9 am or your day off is overcast the light can be beautiful at anytime. This photoshoot below was as late as 3pm as the girls had sports matches to participate in and time for this family was limited. Such happy beautiful subjects and amazing surroundings in my favourite wooded area near Winchester, Hampshire, it doesn't get better than this. Enjoy your autumn walks.
